Course description
Objectives and Content
This subject is a framework for investigation of specific topics within Artistic Research. The aim for this subject is to engage the students in artistic research investigations in depth under supervision of a member of the professional staff experienced in artistic research practice.
Content of the subject will vary from year to year based on the ongoing artistic research practices and projects of staff members.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the subject the student should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills, and general competence:
Knowledge:
- Gain a deeper understanding of artistic research process and practice
- Gain greater insight into their own artistic research project
- Increase knowledge into specific artistic research topics
Skills:
- Further develop their own artistic research practice
- cooperate on special artistic research topics
- Increase ability in artistic research practice within a specific topic
General Competence:
- Be able to communicate own project in a professional manner based on knowledge of other research in the field
- Work in a collaborative environment with supervisor and partners

Admission to the master's program in design.
Teaching and learning methods
Artistic research methods as a foundation, with specific methods based on subject and supervisor. Ex. lectures, group work, field work.

The syllabus will be ready by 01.07. for the autumn semester and 01.12. for the spring semester.
Course Evaluation
The subject will be evaluated every third year, according to UiB¿s quality system.
