Course description
Objectives and Content
General aim: To train health profession students in interprofessional clinical work in Primary Care
Contents: The students establish their interprofessional teams, examine selected patients and write a treatment plan: This is then discussed with the health workers at the institution.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course the student should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The student will
- know the competencies of other health care professionals and what they may contribute in patient care
- appreciate the impact of interprofessional collaboration
- understand the importance of collaboration with patients and other users of the health care system
Skills
The student will
- be able to communicate their own thoughts and assessments to collaborating health care professionals
- be able to use own own professional skills in collaboration with other health care professionals for the benefit of the patients and other users of the health care system
- be able to actively participate in interprofessional work with patients or users of the health care system
General competence
The student will
- know how to communicate professional opinions and suggested solutions to other health care professional in a work place environment
- reflect on their own role in team and group processes
