Campus Bergen
The University of Bergen's medical campus in Bergen is located at Haukeland/Årstadvollen, just outside Bergen city centre. This is the faculty's largest campus, where most students study.
Daily student life on campus

Student workspaces
You have access to a range of reading rooms and group rooms. Some of these must be booked in advance, while others are available at all times.
Book cabinets
The Medical Student Union (MEDSU) organises the sale of book cabinets on campus Bergen, where you can store books and similar items on campus.

Library
You have access to your own library on campus. It is located in Bygg for biologiske basalfag (the BB building).

Are you studying medicine? Then you have access to the medical skills centre, where you can practise various medical procedures.

Armauer Hansens hus (AHH)
Address: Haukelandsveien 28
At AHH you will find the Information Centre for students on the 1st floor! You will also find:
- Reading rooms
- Group rooms
- A student break room
- Book cabinets
- Auditorium AHH
Right next to AHH you will find the office of the Medical Student Union (MEDSU).
Sentralblokken – Haukeland University Hospital (HUS)

If you walk from AHH through a colourful glass bridge, you reach Sentralblokken. Most of Sentralblokken operates as a hospital, but UiB also has some premises here. You will find several teaching rooms and the faculty's largest auditorium, Stort auditorium! There are also group and seminar rooms here.
Bygg for biologiske basalfag (the BB building or BBB)

Through Sentralblokken you can find your way to the BB building. Most students have teaching in the BB building during their studies. Here you will find:
- Several auditoriums and teaching rooms
- Medical skills centre
- Group and study rooms
- Sammen canteen (one of three on campus)
- The library, where the IT assistants are also located
- Anatomical collection
- Department of Biomedicine
- Book cabinets (in the walkway between BBB and Sentralblokken)
You have access to an outdoor area with benches and tables. Indoors there is a large foyer area called Vrimle. Student organisations often have stands here, or other activities take place here.
Laboratoriebygget (the Lab building)

There are several routes to the Lab building, including a walkway from Sentralblokken and a walkway from the walkway (!) between BBB and Sentralblokken.
Several academic communities are based here, such as pharmacy, nutrition and medicine. Department of Clinical Science 1 (K1) and Department of Clinical Science 2 (K2) are also based here.
Overlege Danielssens hus (ODH)
Address: Årstadveien 21
ODH is home to the Centre for International Health, and some Master's programmes have teaching there. In the basement you will find the faculty's own student bar, Smittbar!
Odontologibygget (Odontologen or ODO)
Address: Årstadveien 19
This building is mostly used by dentistry and dental hygiene students, but some of the facilities are also open to other students at the faculty. Here you will find:
- Auditoriums and other teaching rooms
- A reading room
- A computer room
- Sammen canteen (one of three on campus)
- The ODO skills centre, where dental hygiene and dentistry students can practise various procedures
- Dental University Clinic
- Department of Clinical Dentistry (IKO)
Since the building also contains a dental clinic, there will be both patients and students here, as in Sentralblokken.
Alrek Health Cluster
Address: Årstadveien 17
Alrek Health Cluster is a meeting point for students from several faculties at UiB, and for health students from other educational institutions. Here you will find, among other things:
- Auditoriums and teaching rooms
- Sammen canteen (one of three on campus)
- Open areas for student activities
- Group rooms
- Department of Global Public Health and Primary Care (IGS)
Sammen
Sammen is the student welfare organisation in Western Norway. As a UiB student in Bergen, you receive welfare benefits from Sammen when you pay the semester fee.

Heading to AHH, HUS or BBB? Take the "Haukeland" exit. Heading to Alrek Health Cluster or Odontologen? Take the "Haraldsplass" exit.
Walking and cycling
You can both cycle and walk from the city centre to campus. From Den blå steinen it takes around 45 minutes to walk and about 15 minutes to cycle. If you do not have your own bike, you can rent a city bike. Read more at bergenbysykkel.no (external link).
