Research careers at the Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine invests in its researchers. To promote career opportunities within academia, the faculty offers its own development programme for postdoctoral researchers and guidance for a career inside or outside academia.

Postdoctoral programme

The postdoctoral programme is a free career offer for postdoctoral researchers and other early-career researchers at the Faculty of Medicine who want to qualify for a career in academia. It consists of seminars, workshops and group-based activities focused on career development, grant writing, project management, research ethics, personnel management, work-life balance and more.

The programme strengthens the research community by providing an arena for sharing experience across disciplines. It runs over one academic year and takes place every other year.

Career guidance

As a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, you are assigned an academic mentor and design a career development plan (CDP). The plan helps you define short-term and long-term goals and strengthens your chances when you apply for promotion, employment or research funding.

Postdoctoral researchers are also offered free career guidance through individual meetings with our research advisers.
