Outreach

I have developed and delivered lectures and courses on the mental health of children and adolescents, with a particular focus on child maltreatment and trauma. A central aspect of my work has been interdisciplinary collaboration, emphasizing how various services can provide more holistic and coordinated support for children and families in vulnerable life situations.

I have also presented my research at national and international conferences, such as the Annual Meeting of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS), held in Boston in 2024.

Through my collaboration with various County Governors, I have contributed to improving the skills and knowledge of child welfare services, with a particular focus on helping children effectively communicate their stories in child welfare cases, as well as improving case management and assessments. Since 2014, I have been responsible for the Norwegian Board of Health Supervision’s courses on conducting interviews with children and adolescents in child welfare institutions.

I have taught and delivered lectures for organizations such as the Norwegian Medical Association (Legeforeningen), NAV, the Norwegian Correctional Service (Kriminalomsorgen), and various professional environments within mental health, schools, and child welfare. Additionally, I have led training programs for staff in child welfare institutions and foster care services, focusing on trauma-informed care and relational support in challenging caregiving situations.
