Thesis project: Polyphony and narrativity in media discourse on climate - the case of the press article

Project description:
The project falls within the field of discourse analysis and enunciative approaches (enunciation linguistics) in linguistics. It aims to analyse the discourse on climate change in the form of (French) press articles dealing with climate change and related subjects. The project draws on theories of linguistic polyphony to examine the enunciative heterogeneity of the articles, for example references to sources and reported discourse (references to works, references to people, more allusive references to attested points of view in the field concerned).

Description du projet :
Le projet s'inscrit dans le champ de l'analyse du discours et des approches énonciatives (linguistique de l'énonciation) en linguistique. Il vise à analyser le discours sur le changement climatique sous la forme d'articles de presse (française) traitant du changement climatique et de sujets connexes. Le projet s'appuie sur les théories de la polyphonie linguistique pour examiner l'hétérogénéité énonciative des articles, par exemple les références aux sources et les discours rapportés (références à des ouvrages, références à des personnes, références plus allusives à des points de vue attestés dans le domaine concerné).
