Dr. Svati Shah is an anthropologist whose research emphasizes questions of political economy and queer feminist theory within South Asian Studies. Their research has addressed questions of sexuality, gender, migration and caste capitalism in India. Their current project focuses on the geneaology of queer movements in India and theories of urban and rural sexuality politics in contemporary assertions of nativist nationalism.
