Short info

I research on paleoenvironmental and paleoclimate reconstruction, though the view of palynomorph chemistry, referring to analytical approaches of FTIR and GC-MS. My current project aims at reconstructing UV-B during Laschamp event (~42 ka).
Research

I am a geographer and paleo-ecologist studying paleoenvironment and paleoclimate reconstruction up to the Last Glacial Period. I am a member of the PalaeoChem Research Group, with main work on: (i) picking spores and pollen grains from sediment materials for palynomorph chemistry analysis, (ii) reconstruction on past UV-B from ultraviolet absorbing compounds (UACs) in spores and pollen grains. I use Fourier-transformed Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GCMS) as main analytical approaches. I am also interested in other paleoclimate reconstructions like bog surface wetness (BSW) and pollen analysis.
