In the FATCOR study, we study metabolic health changes over 10 years in midlife. Such changes include development of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, or heart disease. Important factors that contribute to these changes are menopause in women, and weight gain, physical activity, and stress in both women and men.

This last part of the FATCOR follow-up study was carried out in collaboration with the Heart Clinic at Haukeland University Hospital. 350 participants showed up at the cardiac rehabilitation unit for check-ups of blood pressure, ECG, and lung function tests, as well as measurement of maximal oxygen uptake on a treadmill test, which reflects physical fitness.

Thanks to all participants for your valuable efforts in the service of research!
