Mia Appelbäck is a PhD candidate working on the REBOA PPH trial, on the management of life-threatening post-partum haemorrhage (PPH) using Resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) in a resource-limited setting.
She is a medical doctor and final year resident in obstetrics and gynecology. Her PhD project aims to explore the management, consequences, and experiences of near-miss postpartum haemorrhage in the healthcare and referral system in Uganda.
