Susanne Ostendorf (born 1970) was appointed as Assistant Faculty Director in spring 2017.
Ostendorf holds a Social Science Degree and has over 20 years of experience in the public service and higher education sector.
She has participated in a number of organizational development projects and working groups within and outside the Faculty, both as leader, coordinator and member. She led the working group for the reorganization of the HR department in 2020, was the faculty coordinator for the introduction of a ERP-system for payroll and finance (2021-2023), and a member of the working group for the university's EU certification in HR Excellence in Research (2019).
Currently, she works as area coordinator for student and staff areas, focusing on the planning process for the new HF quarter which includes a new building in Dokkeveien.
Ostendorf has previous experience as Chief of HR and Service (2013-2017), and as Senior HR and Finance Officer at the Centre of Excellence in Medieval Studies (2008-2012), where she initiated a multidisciplinary administrative team providing application support for external funding.
Ostendorf has also held a number of administrative posts, including Secretary of the Appointments Board of the Faculty of Humanities (2013-2020), Secretary of the Research and PhD Affairs Committee (2017-2021), Secretary of the Board of the German-Norwegian Study and Research Centre in Kiel (2007-2012), and Deputy Representative of the staff association Parat (2003-2006).
