I investigate how a visual illusion influences a driver's perception and precautionary actions, compromising traffic safety. I implement virtual reality (VR) environments and a driving simulator for my experiments. My research interests are human factors psychology and vision.
Research
I am part of the BLINDZONES project which is an international project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The BLINDZONES project aims to elucidate the basic characteristics of the visual mechanisms underlying the recently discovered illusion of absence, while also investigating their potentially important role in traffic safety.
