Impact of gender on cardiovascular risk factors and blood pressure related heart disease

Speaker: Cardiologist PhD Ester Kringeland

Ester Kringeland is a specialist in internal medicine and cardiology, currently working at the Department of Cardiology, Haukeland University Hospital.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Bergen in 2008 and defended her PhD in 2022 on the topic Sex differences in blood pressure in midlife: associations with risk factors and acute coronary syndromes in the Hordaland Health Studies.

Dr. Kringeland has published nine articles on hypertension and hypertensive heart disease. Her research has received significant media attention and awards, and in 2022 she was invited as a speaker at the ESC Preventive Cardiology Congress. She is affiliated with the Center as the main supervisor for a master's student and co-supervisor for a PhD candidate.

In December 2022, Ester delivered a brilliant trial lecture on gender differences in cardiovascular risk factors and hypertensive heart disease. We are fortunate that she has agreed to present this lecture as a Center seminar.
