Seven out of ten women are affected by high blood pressure.

Hypertension is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease worldwide. High blood pressure is defined as blood pressure exceeding 140/90 mmHg measured by a physician. The global prevalence of hypertension has doubled over the past 20 years, and many cases remain undiagnosed and untreated—even in Norway. High blood pressure damages the heart and arteries more in women than in men. Women also have different risk factors for hypertension, and 50% of those who develop high blood pressure do so within one year after menopause.

There is a need for new and improved guidelines for the detection and treatment of hypertension. The Center for Research on Cardiovascular Disease in Women invites you to a seminar on the new European guidelines for the diagnosis and management of high blood pressure.

Coffee, tea, and light refreshments will be served. Open to all!
