Objectives and Content

Seminar Series/Course Overview

This seminar series aims to provide a comprehensive overview and in-depth insights into a diverse range of immunology projects within the medical faculty and clinical sciences. The course is primarily designed for master's students, early-career researchers (PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows), and other professionals to share their research and engage in scientific discussions. Additionally, guest speakers from local and national institutions will be invited to deliver lectures throughout the series.

The seminar series is organized by the Bergen Research School in Inflammation (BRSI) in collaboration with the Broegelmann Research Laboratory (BRL). It comprises sessions every second week.

Objectives
The primary goal is to provide students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and researchers in immunology and clinical science with a broad understanding of various sub-disciplines in immunology. Additionally, the program aims to enhance participants' ability to analyze and reflect critically on scientific presentations delivered in English.

Upon successful completion of this course, participants will acquire the following:

Knowledge

  • Enhance their ability to communicate scientific work through oral presentations and improve presentation techniques based on feedback from experienced researchers.

  • Build a solid foundation for mastering advanced presentation techniques.

  • Communicate their research effectively through recognized national and international meetings/ conferences.

Access to the Course
PhD candidates, post.docs and students at the Medical Student Research Programme as well as master students
Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
  • Actively participate in the seminars in two semesters (attendance is recorded)
  • Give an oral presentation based on his/her own research once per semester
Forms of Assessment

The course will use the following forms of assessment:

  • Students who take the course for credits must attend 80% of the lectures.
  • If required, the course registration can be spread out over more than two semesters (contact the course coordinator)
