Department of Finance

The Department of Finance is part of the central administration at the University of Bergen and is responsible for all finance, payroll, and procurement functions.

Responsibilities and tasks

The Department of Finance is responsible for all financial and procurement functions at the University of Bergen. The department is also responsible for the management and development of administrative information systems related to finance, payroll, and procurement.


Areas of responsibility include, among other things:

  • Budgeting, financial management, and financial advisory services
  • Accounting, invoice processing, and financial reporting
  • Salary, travel, and absence management
  • PurchSupplier invoices and information for suppliers

Organization

The Department of Finance is headed by Finance Director Per Arne Foshaug and is part of the central administration at the University of Bergen. The department is organized into the following units:

  • Seksjon for systemforvaltning
  • Seksjon for budsjett
  • Seksjon for prosjektøkonomi
  • Seksjon for innkjøp
  • Seksjon for regnskap
  • Tjenestesenter for lønn, reise og fravær
