A new academic year at the University of Bergen is about to begin, and we look forward to welcoming both new and returning students to the start of the semester at this year’s Welcome Ceremony.

At the Welcome Ceremony, we celebrate the beginning of a new academic year with our new and continuing students, as well as our staff.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the ceremony.

Practical information

This year’s ceremony will take place on Monday 10 August at 09:45 in Muséplass. The ceremony is open to everyone.

The venue will open from 09:00, and we recommend arriving in good time before the ceremony begins at 09:45.

Please dress appropriately for the weather. Umbrellas can obstruct the view of others and cause congestion. We therefore recommend waterproof clothing if rain is expected.
