Work
Artem Nazarko is a PhD Research Fellow and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Fellow at the Faculty of Law.
He is working in international criminal and humanitarian law, focusing on international and domestic war crimes prosecution, prosecution under universal jurisdiction, and the right to a fair trial. His doctoral thesis analyses issues of domestic prosecutions of war crimes in Ukraine during the Russo-Ukrainian war.
He holds a master’s degree in international law from the National University Odesa Law Academy (Ukraine) and a master's degree in economics from Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding (Ukraine). Prior to coming to work for UiB, Artem was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Vienna (Austria), Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic) and London South Bank University (United Kingdom).
