Short info
Research
My work examines how sensory and cognitive experience shapes the understanding of architectural value in existing buildings. I operate at the intersection of architectural heritage and neuroarchitecture, with particular focus on transformation.
I develop the concept of “Empathetic Preservation” as a framework for integrating embodied experience, material continuity and ethical value into conservation and transformation processes. The work combines professional practice with theoretical perspectives from heritage studies and perception research.
Outreach
I disseminate research and professional knowledge through articles, essays and lectures on architecture, transformation and sensory experience. My texts explore how space influences cognition, health and society, and have been published in professional journals including Arkitektur.
I also publish essays and reflections on architecture and society on my independent platform: www.patointelecto.org
Teaching
In teaching, I focus on the analysis of existing buildings, adaptive reuse and spatial perception. I encourage students to develop a critical understanding of value, materiality and use, and to connect theoretical perspectives with concrete architectural interventions.
