Short info
I study atmospheric electricity and phenomena associated with thunderstorms. I analyse data from ALOFT and ASIM, with the goal to improve our understanding of electrical processes occurring in thunderstorms and the connection between lightning discharges and high-energy radiation from thunderstorms.
Research
My research focuses on gamma-ray glows, terrestrial gamma-ray flashes (TGFs) and other phenomena associated with thunderstorms. Using data from the ALOFT aircraft campaign, I investigate the mechanisms responsible for the reduction of gamma-ray glows, and study weak TGFs that are difficult to detect from space-based platforms.
I received my PhD from UiB in 2024. My doctoral research focused on the relationship between TGFs, elves and lightning discharges.
