I want to contribute to building a robust understanding of stress-related and depressive disorders. For this, I am pursuing an academic career in neuroscience with a strong translational focus. In addition, to facilitate a dialogue between natural and social sciences, I want to participate in the organization of public events to disseminate neuroscience research to different academic sectors and the non-academic public.

Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Bergen under the main supervision of associate professor Olga Therese Ousdal, and co-supervision of professor Petri Kursula and associate professor Leif Oltedal. Our project aims to unravel the role of grey matter myelination in depression, specifically in response to electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), one of the most effective treatments for treatment-resistant depression. Combining clinical, pre-clinical and basic research, it will contribute towards building a strong foundation to understand clinical response to ECT for depression.
