I am a researcher and group leader at the University in Bergen in Norway. I lead the group Dynamics of the Asymmetric Geospace at the Birkeland Centre for Space Science.
My group and I have worked for many years to understand the dynamics of the asymmetric geospace by investigating a wide range of observations and simulations. In recent years, as part of two projects funded by the Trond Mohn Foundation and by the Reserach Council of Norway, we have developed new techniques for combining data to map the electrodynamics in the ionosphere. We are also heavily involved in the Electrojet Zeeman Imaging Explorer, a NASA satellite mission, planned to launch in 2024, which will observe magnetic fields and electric currents in a new way.
