Economic sociology, with particular emphasis on network studies and structural analysis. Several books and numerous articles in Norwegian and international journals, especially in the areas of economic sociology, sociology of time, and social science methodology. Most recent books: Samfunnsvitenskapelige metoder (2. utgave, Fagbokforlaget 2016), Ulikhet: Sosiologiske perspektiver og analyser (Fagbokforlaget 2021 – edited with Ann Nilsen and Karen Christensen), andSocial Research Methods: Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed Methods Approaches, Second Edition (Sage 2024).
