Projects
Chief Project Coordinator (2008-2011) “Master in Public Policy and Governance (MPPG)” a collaborative higher education project (master studies) among University of Bergen, Norway, Trihuvan University, Nepal, North South University, Bangladesh, and Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka. The MPPG is anchored in North South University, Bangladesh. The project at present has 44 MPPG students from Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The project is funded by NORAD under the Norwegian Master Program (NOMA). The project has also undertaken nation wide survey on Citizens Trust in Political and Public Institutions in Bangladesh. Forthcoming survey in October 2009 is on Citizen Charter in Local Government in Bangladesh.
Principal Investigator (2007-2011) of project “Governance Matters: Assessing, Diagnosing and Addressing Challenges of Governance in Nepal” in collaboration with Central Department of Public Administration, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. The project has 4 PhD students and has undertaken a number of research projects such as Nepal Trust Survey and Nepal Citizen Charter Survey. The project is financed by NORAD under the Norwegian Programme for Development, Research and Education (NUFU). Project output: 1) International conference in Kathmandu December 2008 titled “Challenges of Governance in South Asia” with 4 key note speeches, 35 papers, and around 200 participants, publication of Nepalese Journal of Policy and Governance. First issue July/August 2009. 2) Publications on administrative culture, trust, citizen charter in international and national journals, reports, and dissemination seminars.
