I work as a researcher at the Norwegian Competence Center for Gambling and Gaming Research (SPILLFORSK), studying problematic gambling and video gaming. I hold BA and MA degrees in psychology from the University of Bergen and was previously a PhD candidate at the Department of Psychosocial Science.
Work
My Ph.D. project was called 'Suicidality Among Problem Gamblers (SAGA)'
The Ph.D. project investigated the relationship between gambling problems and suicidal behavior (suicidal ideation, -attempts, and death by suicide) and was based on (Study 1) a meta-analysis of previous research, (Study 2) a registry study linking the Norwegian Patient Register (NPR) with the Cause of Death Register, and (Study 3) a qualitative interview study among people with gambling problems who have experienced suicidality.
