I am currently working on the GYRED project, which investigates the structure and variability of the North Atlantic gyres. We explore how these gyres may contribute to the disruption of meridional coherence in transport signals of the extended Gulf Stream system and AMOC, thereby modulating the northward throughput of heat and water. Lagrangian trajectory analysis tools are used, which can, in a sense, be compared to this incident: Friendly Floatee Spill 🦆
