Kari Jegerstedt is Head of Centre at the Centre for Women's and Gender Research (SKOK). Her research interest includes: Feminist theory, Literary Theory, Narrative theory, Psychoanalysis, Post colonialism, Globalisation, Feminist fiction, South African Literature, Postmodern fiction, Radical Philosophy, Resistance and Queer theory.

Annual conference for RINGS (International Research Association of Institutions of Advanced Gender Studies). In the roundtable about “Teaching critical gender studies – dilemmas of identity and politics”, Kari, together with Rosemarie Buikema (Netherlands), Tamara Shefer (South Africa) and Christine M. Jacobsen (Norway) discussed about dilemmas that arise from ‘intersectional identities’ teachers and students bring to the class room. 17- 19 October 2018.
Teaching
Jegerstedt's teaching experience covers introductory courses in gender studies, gender theory and psychoanalysis courses.
