Research

I am the academic leader for the Norwegian Queer Archives, a national center for queer history with archival material from queer lives and organisations in Norway.

Previously, I was the project coordinator for the infrastructure project SAMLA. In the project, the archical material and collections of the three Norwegian tradition archives, The Norwegian Folklore Archives (NFS) at the University in Oslo, The Norwegian Ethnological Research (NEG) at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History, and The Ethno-folkloristic Archives (EFA) at the University in Bergen, will be digitalized and made accessible. SAMLA is financed through the Norwegian Research Council's INFRASTRUKTUR-programme, and is included in the Norwegian Roadmap for Research infrastructure.

More information about SAMLA can be found on www.samla.no.

I defended my PhD-thesis on last name choices by Norwegian men in heterosexual relationships in December 2020. This is a topic that I am still working on, and I am adding queer perspectives as well as multicultural perspectives to my present thinking about name choice in couples.
