Her research includes themes as: lone motherhood and welfarepolicy, familypractices, cohabitation, unpaid and paid work, user perspectives, street level buraucracy, digitalization and the development of the Norwegian welfare state. She is currently engaged in work on the welfare policy development the latest decades.
