Marianna Ruiz is a Researcher at the Research Unit for General Practice (AFE) in Bergen, part of NORCE Norwegian Research Centre. AFE Bergen is dedicated to generating new knowledge that improves patient care in general practice, with a particular focus on chronic disorders, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up. The research conducted at AFE supports general practitioners by addressing the complex challenges they face in everyday practice through interdisciplinary collaboration and external partnerships.

With a specialization in autism and neurodevelopmental conditions, Marianna brings extensive experience in conducting randomized controlled trials. Her PhD project, Music for Autism, explored the therapeutic effects of music on autistic children, utilizing neuroimaging and psychometric assessments to investigate underlying mechanisms. As part of the GAMUT research center, she continues to develop innovative research projects aimed at improving patient outcomes, particularly for neurodivergent individuals. In her role, Marianna also contributes to writing grants and securing funding to support cutting-edge research in general practice.
