Short info

My research field is Computational Creativity, with a particular focus on narrative generation. I am the author of MEXICA, a computer program that implements the cognitive model of creative writing known as engagement–reflection.
Research

MEXICA is a long-term research project that has evolved through several versions. MEXICA V1 offers a detailed account of the processes involved in narrative generation. MEXICA-impro extends this work by enabling the storyteller to create collaborative narratives. MEXICA-reviewer introduces evaluative capabilities, allowing the system to assess the novelty, coherence, and interest of its own outputs. Finally, MEXICA-visual illustrates the narratives produced, adding a visual dimension to the storytelling process.
