Short info
I am a PhD Research Fellow in Psychology specializing on visual perception and road safety through the use of virtual reality. I completed my Master's degree at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, focusing my study on haptic illusions. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Research
I conduct interdisciplinary and applied research in the fields of vision science, traffic safety, HCI, and human factors psychology.
I investigate how a visual illusion (illusion of absence) influences a driver's perception and precautionary actions, compromising road safety. I implement virtual reality (VR) environments and a driving simulator for my experiments.
I am part of the BLINDZONES project, which is an international project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. The BLINDZONES project aims to elucidate the basic characteristics of the visual mechanisms underlying the recently discovered illusion of absence, while also investigating their potentially important role in traffic safety.
