Research
Theogene Habumugisha is a researcher at the Centre for International Health (CIH), Department of Global Health and Primary Care. He holds a PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from the University of Bergen. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rwanda, earning a bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics. He later pursued a master's degree in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University and Research, The Netherlands.
His previous work focused on nutrition in humanitarian emergency settings, where he contributed to various projects with UNHCR and the World Food Programme (WFP), implemented both locally in Rwanda and internationally.
His research interests include promoting healthy and (environmentally) sustainable diets across the lifespan, with a particular focus on protein transition and healthy aging.
