Research
Mossin’s PhD project is part of the interdisciplinary research initiative Visions of the Arctic. Drawing on objects and images from Norwegian museum collections, she investigates visual representations of Greenlanders from the 17th century to the present. The project pays particular attention to Norway’s role in the colonization of Greenland, employing contemporary art as a critical lens. The project's aim is to shed light on how encounters between Norwegian colonists and Greenlanders have shaped, and continue to influence, both perceptions of Greenlanders and institutional museum practices today.
