Lost and found
If you’ve forgotten a charger, ruler, water bottle, or other items in the exam room, you can search the lost-and-found boxes outside BRITA IT Support on the 3rd floor of Nygårdsgaten 5 a few days after your exam.
In the cabinets under the bench opposite of the entrance to BRITA, you’ll find the lost-and-found boxes. If you don’t find your forgotten item there, unfortunately, we have not received it.
Personal items and ID cards
If you’ve forgotten personal items such as a laptop, mobile phone, or ID cards (e.g., bank card or driver’s license), you must contact the Student Department. Describie what you’ve lost and we will contact you via your student email address, whether we find your item or not.
Forgotten student ID cards are sent directly to the Card Center, and we ask that you contact them a few days after the exam to check if your student card has arrived there.
Trouble using your device after a written exam?
The most likely explanation is that you haven’t uninstalled Safe Exam Browser.
Mac
If you’re using a Mac, your device may freeze after taking an exam with Safe Exam Browser. This is especially common if you haven’t updated your operating system (macOS) in a while.
What should you do?
Hold down the power button until the machine shuts off. This takes about 10 seconds. Then, turn the device back on—it should work normally.
Windows
If you’re using Windows, you might not be able to shut down or restart your PC, and the menu options may be missing after taking an exam with Safe Exam Browser.
What should you do?
- Click the Start button
- Search for Seb Registry Resetter
- When the program appears, right-click it and select Run as administrator
- A command window will open. Answer “y” to the first question
- When prompted for a username, enter your local PC username (not your UiB account) and press Enter
- Log out and log back in—everything should now work as normal.
