Diplomas and transcripts from UiB are digital. You can find your results during your studies and upon graduation on the Diploma Registry. You can also share your grades and degrees with others.
What is the Diploma Registry?
The Diploma Registry (https://www.vitnemalsportalen.no) is a digital service where you can retrieve and share your results from higher education with potential employers and others.
When you log in to the Diploma Registry, your results are retrieved directly from UiB's database. You can choose which results you want to share. The Diploma Registry generates a link that you can easily send to the recipient(s) you want. Along with the link, a unique code is sent that the recipient must use to view the results.
See step-by-step explanation on the Diploma Registry's pages.
Getting your diploma after finishing your degree
When you have obtained a degree at UiB, your digital diploma will be automatically produced within 8 - 12 weeks after the last result is published in Studentweb. The appeal deadline must have expired before producing the diploma to ensure that the grades shown are final.
Your digital diploma will be available in the Diploma Registry. You do not need to order a diploma, unless you need it on paper.
Students at the Faculty of Law are also not required to order a diploma, but must take the candidate's oath to receive a diploma. See Diplomas from the Faculty of Law (Norwegian) for more information.
Further education courses do not provide a diploma.

Frequently asked questions
Can I include my external education in my diploma?
If you have an education from other educational institutions in Norway that will be included in your degree at UiB, you must apply for integration or approval of external education (Norwegian).
Grades from external educational institutions are not included on the diploma. Therefore, please take good care of transcripts from, for example, exchange programs or other external results so that you can attach them to your diploma yourself.
How do I ensure the correct name shows up in the diploma?
If you have changed your name since you first registered as a student at UiB, you must send us the original documentation of the name change well in advance of ordering your diploma. The name we have registered in the system at the time the diploma is produced will be the one on the diploma.
Fill out this form to update personal information in Studentweb (Norwegian).
What happens if I have too many credits in my education plan?
The education plan should only contain the courses you need to obtain a degree. If you have more elective courses than what is in your education plan, contact your study adviser.
Courses in your education plan will be included on your diploma, while a transcript may also show courses that are outside your education plan, if you have several.
If you do not contact us, UiB will decide which courses will be included on the diploma. You cannot change courses after the diploma has been produced.
For students at the Faculty of Law, separate rules apply.
Where can PhD candidates find or order their diploma?
PhD candidates will find their digital diploma in the Diploma Registry and Studentweb . All PhD candidates will receive a physical diploma during the doctoral promotion ceremony in the University Auditorium.
Questions related to this can be directed to the faculty's administrative PhD coordinator.
Where can international students find or order their diploma?
As an international student, you will have access to your digital diploma as long as you have a valid login method. This means that you must have access to ID-porten or Feide login. You must therefore order a paper diploma before you lose access to the Norwegian login method to the diploma portal. Paper diplomas are only issued once.
Can I have my diploma translated into another language?
UiB does not translate diplomas into English or other languages. You must contact a state-authorized translator or a translation agency to have an approved translation performed.
