Registration and withdrawal from classes and exams

In order to participate in classes and take exams, you must register in Studentweb. You'll find information on how to register for classes and exams, and how to withdraw if you are not going to take the course anyway.

Deadlines for registration and withdrawing

The deadlines for registering for classes and exams are:

  • 1 September for the fall semester.
  • 1 February for the spring semester.

You can make changes right up until the deadline. The deadline for withdrawing from the course, also called the withdrawal deadline, is 14 days before the exam in the course. 

Please note that this is a general rule and deadlines may be different for each course. Check your course information closely.

Important things to remember at the beginning of the semester

  • You must register for the semester, pay the semester fee, and sign up for classes and exams.
  • The course usually starts before the registration deadline.
  • Mandatory course activities, such as assignment submissions and mandatory attendance, may also start before the registration deadline expires.

Register in Studentweb

  1. Go to 'Studies' and 'View Education Plan' to register for courses in your education plan.
  2. Go to 'Active Courses' to sign up for courses outside the curriculum.

If you are going to withdraw from classes or an exam, you can also do this in 'Active Courses' in Studentweb. 

After you have registered, you will have access to the timetable, messages, syllabus and other information about the course in the learning platform MittUiB.

Withdraw from classes or exams

 You can withdraw your registration for classes and assessments via the education plan or via the top menu on Studentweb, under 'Active Courses'. The deadline for withdrawal is 14 days before the exam starts. If you are unable to withdraw from an assessment registration on Studentweb, you must send an email to the faculty within the withdrawal deadline.  

Students in professional study programmes at the Faculty of Medicine cannot withdraw from classes and exams.

Apply for exam registration after the deadline

In special cases, you can apply to be registered for an exam even if the deadline has passed. In special cases, you can apply to be registered for an exam even if the deadline has passed. The application is processed by your faculty. You can contact the information centre at the faculty if you have any questions about this.
