The agreements you can choose from

The exchange agreements are either located at a faculty or department for their students, or they are located centrally by UiB and are open to all students.

Agreements at faculties and departments can be subject-specific and you should be a student at the faculty or department to apply for one of those agreements.

We have approximately 150 agreements that are open to all students, regardless of which faculty you are studying at.

Our exchange agreements fall into one of two categories: Erasmus agreements and Bilateral agreements.

Erasmus agreements

Erasmus agreements are agreements within Europe, with a few exceptions. If you travel on an Erasmus agreement, you will receive an Erasmus grant in addition to the support from the Norwegian State Loan Fund, if applicable. Note that you will not receive an Erasmus grant for exchanges to the United Kingdom, even if you travel on an Erasmus agreement. However, you will still not pay a tuition fee; see more information on the individual agreement.

Bilateral agreements

Bilateral agreements are exchanges outside Europe, with a few some exceptions. If you travel on a bilateral agreement, you can either get a study place without tuition fee, or a place where you will have to pay tuition fee.
