Information centres and student guidance

Do you have any questions, or do you need advice and guidance? As a student at the University of Bergen, we will do our best to help you.

We understand that it can be challenging to navigate student life. You can contact us when you need information and guidance about your everyday life as a student, help with practical things you need to do related to your studies, or if you are wondering what courses or course-combinations you can take.

We also help you if you want to know more about your duties and rights as a student, or use Mitt UiB, UiBtreet and Studentweb.

If you don't know who to ask, send us an email. We'll guide you further.

Where to get help

You usually get the fastest response by email, but you can also call or visit the Information Centre, if your faculty has one.

Sometimes it can be useful to book an appointment with a student adviser. This may be if you need in-depth guidance to plan your course of study, need facilitation, or other challenges you want to discuss privately.

What information do we need from you to be able to help you?

In order to be able to help you in the best possible way, we need you to provide:

  1. Your full name.
  2. Your student number.
  3. The study programme you are attending.
  4. A description of what you need help with.

Are you a new student and unsure of which faculty you belong to? Check the overview at the bottom of UiBtreet (change the language to English by clicking on the menu on the upper right corner).
