Speak up about information security

All students with a user account at UiB are required to follow our ICT regulations. (external link) 

Are you afraid that you have been hacked, or do you think that any personal information has been compromised? Have you discovered any holes in UiB's IT security? You can report any issues in UiBhjelp (external link).

If you are not a student or employee, please send an email to the IRT-team (Incident Response Team) at the IT department:  irt@uib.no. We ask that you encrypt confidential information with the IRT-team's public key.

Speak up about privacy

UiB manages large amounts of personal data. You can read more about how we work with privacy on our Personal Data and Privacy Gateway pages.

If you believe that personal data is not being collected, used or stored in accordance with the Personal Data Act (external link) , we would like that you let us know. You can report any issues in UiBhjelp (external link).

We take you seriously

If you have discovered any questionable matters that may be detrimental to UiB or individuals at UiB, we would like you to speak up and make it known to us. Any cases that involve questionable situations will be dealt with in a way that protects you as a student and ensures that your case is handled.


What happens after you have reported the incident? All sensitive documents in the case will be kept confidential and your name will not be disclosed to anyone other than those necessary to process the case.
 

Not sure what to do? Not sure about your rights? The Ombud for Students is an independent support person whose task is to provide students at the University of Bergen with legal advice and assistance in matters related to their study situation.
