Byttebua

Did you just move into a new student accommodation and need kitchen utensils? Are you about to move and have accumulated various things you no longer need? Come and visit Byttebua - this is a place where you can drop off and pick up useful things free of charge!

What is Byttebua?

Byttebua Bergen is a permanent swap market for students in Bergen. It is a collaboration between the Sustainability Pilots at the University of Bergen (UiB) and Spire Bergen. The initiative originated from the Sustainability Pilots in 2020, and has been open regularly ever since.

What does Byttebua accept?

We welcome:

  • Kitchenware and tableware
  • Interior items
  • Books
  • Small electronics
  • Small furniture that can easily be carried
  • Plants and cuttings

We do not accept:

  • Broken items
  • Clothes and shoes
  • Items that are too large or heavy to carry

Cleaning equipment

At Byttebua, you can also pick up gloves and trash bags in various sizes from Hold Norge Rent (Keep Norway Clean). Perfect to bring along in your backpack when you're out and about! You can also contact us if you want to organize a larger cleanup event and need more equipment.
