Sign up for a Tuberculosis test

If you are a citizen of a country with a high occurrence of tuberculosis and you are staying in Norway for more than three months, you must take a tuberculosis examination, called a TB test. The test is mandatory, which means that you must take it to stay in Norway.

Who needs to book a TB-test?

According to Norwegian law, tuberculosis examination (TB test), is mandatory for persons from countries with a high occurence of tuberculosis who intend to stay in Norway for more than three months. The test is free of charge.

Even if you have recently been tested for tuberculosis in Norway or in another country, you are still required to arrange a TB test appointment.

Persons from countries with a low occurrence of tuberculosis must still be tested if they have been a resident in one of the countries with a high occurence of tuberculosis for more than 3 months, and if they will be working within health care

If you have any questions, you must contact the Infection Control Office.

You must book an appointment as soon as possible after arriving in Norway.

You book the appointment by filling in an electronic form. You will be informed directly by the health authorities about the date and where to meet for your TB test.

The residence permit will not be valid before final clearance from the Norwegian health authorities has been given.
