1. Claim your UiB user account
On 1 July you will receive an automatically generated email showing you how to claim your UiB user account. If you do not receive the email, you can check your spam filter.
With your user account, you can log in to all UiB systems, such as:
- your student email (external link)
- the learning platform Mitt UiB (external link)
- UiBtreet (external link)
Two-factor login: When you log in to one of UiB's services, you will be notified that you must set up two-factor login within 14 days.
2. Log in to UiBtreet
Once you have activated your user account, you can log in to UiBtreet (external link).
Here you will find a personal checklist that guides you through the necessary tasks related to the start of your studies. You can check off as you complete the tasks. UiBtreet also links you to related systems and websites and has a calendar and other useful tools for your daily life as a student.
3. Semester registration
One of the tasks in UiBtreet is semester registration. All students must register for the semester at the start of each semester. This is what you will do every autumn and every spring as long as you are enrolled as a student.
The deadline for semester registration is September 1 in the autumn semester and February 1 in the spring semester.
This is how you register for the semester on Studentweb.
If you are an exchange student, you are exempted from paying the semester fee.
Other students must pay a semester fee to Sammen, the Student Welfare Organisation. When you do this, you will gain access to all the services that Sammen offers to students.
4. Consider whether you need individual adaptations/accommodations
Do you have a disability or special needs?
Find out which types of accommodation that may be relevant to you.
If you need individual adaptations/accommodation, you should apply for it as soon as you have activated your user account. If you are an exchange student, you should apply as soon as you have been nominated.
5. See what is happening at your faculty
See what activities and tasks are planned for you as a new student at your faculty:
- Faculty of Medicine
- Faculty of Humanities
- Faculty of Science and Technology
- Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (external link)
- Faculty of Social Sciences
- Faculty of Law
- Faculty of Psychology
Are you unsure which faculty you belong to? Check your faculty at the bottom in UiBtreet (external link).
