Find literature lists

Reading lists, also called syllabus, are available on the course page in Mitt UiB and on uib.no. On the course pages at uib.no, you will also find reading lists from previous years. As a rule, the reading lists are published on 1 July for the autumn semester, and 1 December for the spring semester.

It is important to know that you do not have to buy the course literature for the entire course of study right away. The reading list for a course can change, as we constantly update the literature to include the latest and most relevant information.

To ensure that you have the right course literature, you must check the reading list for the relevant courses you will be taking each semester. This will help you avoid unnecessary expenses and ensure that you always have the most up-to-date literature. See the page for your study programme or go directly to the course website from uib.no/en/courses

Where can I find the reading lists?

You will find a link to the reading list in Mitt UiB or in the course description at uib.no, in the top right corner of the description under Resources. Remember to check that you have chosen the right semester. If the link is missing, then the reading list has not been published yet.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to buy all the course literature myself?

As a student at UiB, you will have access to some of the literature for free, in addition to the lecturer being able to share chapters and paragraphs from chapters digitally. That’s why we recommend that you wait to buy the literature until you start your studies and get an overview of what material will be provided for free, and what the lecturer recommends you buy.

In addition, you can also buy the literature from fellow students. In that case, remember to check that it is the correct version.

How do I access the articles in the reading lists?

If you are a student at UiB, you will have access to most of the articles in the reading lists. Remember to check that you have logged in.

Is the course literature available in audio, e-book or Braille?

If you have difficulty reading visual text, Tibi is the library for you. Tibi lends adapted literature and produces literature in an alternative format for blind and visually impaired students.
