Research at the faculty

The legal system is a crucial infrastructure for a democratic society built on human rights. A main task for legal science is to explore and analyze the rules that have been adopted. Another main task is to develop the legal system in order to meet future challenges.

The faculty has a wide range of research and several internationally recognized academic environments with strong research networks. Much of the research is conducted in close collaboration with public administration and practical legal life, addressing immediate research needs. The research groups also actively work on research questions related to major societal challenges.

During the period 2023–2030, the faculty will focus on three academic priorities:

  • Climate and energy law
  • Rule of law and international legal cooperation
  • Legal framework for business and innovation
