Why women need to monitor their blood pressure
High blood pressure causes more damage to the heart and arteries in women than in men. The Center for Research on Women's Heart Disease invites you to a seminar on 14 October 2024, focusing on the new European guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension.

Hypertension is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease worldwide. It is defined as a blood pressure reading above 140/90 mmHg measured in a clinical setting. The global prevalence of hypertension has doubled over the past 20 years, and many individuals remain undiagnosed and untreated—even in Norway.
High blood pressure causes more damage to the heart and arteries in women than in men. Women have different risk factors for developing hypertension, and 50% of those affected develop it within one year after menopause. There is a clear need for improved guidelines for the detection and treatment of high blood pressure.
