A fantastic women's health evening in Ålesund

There was a fantastic response when the Ålesund Public Health Association invited to a Women's Health Evening at Parken Hotel in Ålesund. 

450 attendees received an update on women's heart health from Professor Eva Gerdts, with a focus on risk factors related to pregnancy and fertility, and the importance of less explored risk factors for heart disease such as autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases, anxiety and depression. 

Then pharmacist Britt Flem gave a lecture on important vaccinations, including the HPV vaccine, and finally physiotherapist Kristin Evjen lectured on the maintenance of the pelvic floor, a part of the core muscles in the body that we women often forget. 

A very successful event that showed the breadth of the concept of women's health and focused on young women and how they can make good health choices for a long and health-giving life.
