Professor and cardiologist Eva Ringdal Pedersen will give a lecture titled Cholesterol in women – An underestimated risk factor. High cholesterol is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease. In women, cholesterol levels tend to rise after menopause, and the significance of this change is frequently overlooked.
The lecture will explore how cholesterol affects women’s heart health throughout life, the role of hormones and aging, and what research reveals about preventing heart disease in women through the treatment of high cholesterol.
The seminar is hosted by the Center for Research on Women’s Heart Disease and is open to all interested participants.
