The meeting focused on key measures highlighted in the report to ensure that modern knowledge about sex differences in health and disease benefits patients. This requires implementation both in the hospital’s strategic plans and in the overarching learning objectives for health professional education.
The debate opened with engaged contributions from Christine Meyer, Chair of the Women’s Health Committee and Professor at NHH; Deputy CEO of Helse Bergen, Randi-Luise Møgster; and Dean Per Bakke from the Faculty of Medicine. The presenters received numerous insightful comments from the audience and, not least, from the expert panel consisting of Professor Tone Norekvål; Deputy Head of Department Else Cathrine Lütcherath Rustad (HVL); Rita Tveiten from the National Association for Public Health; André Høberg from the Norwegian Medical Students’ Association; Linda Haugland, Chair of the User Committee at Haukeland University Hospital; Helén Botnevik, Chair of the Bergen Women’s Public Health Association; and Professor Mette N. Vesterhus, Director of Education at the Department of Clinical Science.
