Here it is important to be represented in order to make our own research environment visible. This year we were represented by PhD student Aisteja Selmyte-Besuspare.
Aisteja has a 3-year PhD scholarship jointly funded by Godvik Sanitetsforening and the Grieg Foundation and started in the summer of 2024. She bases her work on the FATCOR follow-up study that follows 456 people through 10 years in midlife and focuses on changing risk factors for cardiovascular disease. The clinical data collection will be completed in the summer of 2026.
Aisteja had a clear and beautiful presentation of completely new knowledge about how sex hormones are associated with organ damage in the heart and arteries in midlife women.
